Gorgeous looking produce here. The market is small but very clean and goods are nearly displayed. Prices on produce can be above or below other market prices, so if you know prices well, you won't overpay. For instance, white onions were 99c/lb, same as Safeway, but the medium avocados were 99c each (cheaper than Trader Joe's) and large avocados were $1.99 each for example. Canned and non-perishable goods have limited brand selection and higher than average prices on certain items, but they're there for your convenience if you don't want to make stops at multiple markets. Neat place, I will definitely return when I need Latino cuisine ingredients and super fresh produce.

There is a little churro stand in the parking lot that opens around 3 PM: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-mercadito-latino-redwood-city-2?select=HGp8QZ8nOlKcSDsnf_wuyA#_Ij1tb_8Kv51wGFsPiZI1w They have really good churros, for $1.50 each. I got one filled with caramel: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-mercadito-latino-redwood-city-2?select=254n75JlpUjMtmsYNeB5sw#254n75JlpUjMtmsYNeB5sw It's not made fresh to order, but it was probably made in the last few hours. Super crunchy style and very good.

Love't! Hot tamales! Alfajores! Convenient! Nice people! Not expensive. Sometimes the produce is fresh and sometimes it needsta be thrown out. Ifya like churros, there's a small trailer right outside. You can get Mexican cheeses, creams, or chorizo! Roasted peanuts, delivered Mexican bread, tortillas, & dried spices!

This place has the cheapest oranges - 2 lbs for $1. We have an omega juicer at home and now we'll be able to have fresh squeezed orange juice everyday without breaking the bank! A full bag of oranges, which makes around 1/2 gallon of orange juice, is only around $2.50 - that's less than you'd pay for a cup of orange juice at a juice or smoothie bar. So glad I found this place!

Definitely a huge selection of unique produce you won't find in your normal supermarkets. This place is totally bustling too so parking around the area is tight. However the co-worker and I came here for one reason: Paletas. They had a pretty good selection of them up front but they were about 60% the size of normal ones so I got two. Nance and Eggnog Nance is a weird tropical fruit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nance), that actually had pits in them so I was eating and spitting every once and a while. The eggnog was self explanatory, super tasty and super fattening. The nutrition label said it was 29% of my saturated fat for the day. Yikes. Anyways, great little market with good produce and sweets!

Fresh produce, affordable prices. That's what this place is all about. We go to El Mercadito once a week and load up on bananas, apples, oranges, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatos, potatoes etc.. everything is fresh and cheap! Their parking is tiny though (enough room for 6 cars and this space is shared by multiple stores in the area) and you might have to drive around a while to grab a parking space. I live close by so I just walk there.
